ABOUT DOMINATE NURSING
Dominate Nursing exists to help nursing students truly understand what they’re learning.

About Karla
I graduated nursing school in my early 20s with honors, but I don’t share that to impress anyone. I “did well” because I was good at memorizing information, but I didn’t truly understand what I was learning.
I have ADHD and was a very young mom to a toddler and pregnant during my nursing program. Time was limited, focus was hard, and like many students, I relied heavily on memorization instead of true understanding, which made retaining information a constant struggle.
After earning my Master’s in Nursing Education and teaching thousands of nursing students, I started noticing the same challenges again and again. Students weren’t struggling because they didn’t care or weren’t smart enough. They were overwhelmed, short on time, and expected to memorize large amounts of information without fully understanding it before moving on.
Some of the most effective teaching strategies used in Dominate Nursing actually came from homeschooling my children for nearly a decade. Teaching kids teaches you one thing quickly: If something isn’t simple, it won’t stick. That belief shapes how everything is taught here.
Today, Dominate Nursing exists to help students feel less overwhelmed, more confident, and even excited about learning. When things finally click, learning becomes fascinating, and that’s when confidence and critical thinking grow.
Cheering you on!
